Poor Ramon Aviles. He was one of three players on the World Series roster that did not get to play. A utility infielder on a team with Schmidt, Bowa, Trillo, and Rose, Aviles saw precious little playing time during the season, playing in only 51 games. When he did get the chance, he made the most of it, adding a .277 average to the team's offense. He did make a pinch-running appearance in the LCS, scoring the go-ahead run in the 8th inning of game 5.
