June 8, 1980

The Phils' bats fell silent against Chicago righthander Lynn McGlothen, managing just six hits on the day.  More importantly, they failed to score a single run, ruining a good effort by Dick Ruthven, who fell to 5-5 despite pitching seven innings of two-run baseball.  It was one of two shutouts for McGlothen, who would post a 4.79 ERA on the season.
