July 29, 1980 - Phillies 9, Houston 6

Dallas Green was ejected in the sixth inning.
Dallas Green was ejected in the sixth inning.

The opposite of the prior night's game, starter Randy Lerch was blasted for four runs in only 2-2/3 innings of work before being replaced by Dickie Noles. This time, however, the offense was up to the task, coming back from a 4-0 and a 6-3 deficit to tie the game in the seventh on a Mike Schmidt two-run home run, and win it in the eighth with consecutive RBI singles by Lonnie Smith, Pete Rose and Bake McBride. Kevin Saucier received the win for the Phils in relief, and Tug McGraw earned his eighth save of the season, his first since June 17th.
