July 28, 1980

After the offensive barrage against the Braves, the Phils' bats went back to sleep against Gordie Pladson, a Canadian pitcher with a career ERA of 6.04.  The Phils managed just four hits and two runs against Pladson en route to a 3-2 loss.  Nino Espinosa pitched 6-1/3 innings of two-run baseball, and Ron Reed took the loss in extra innings.  Larry Bowa stolehome in the 5th inning to add a bit of offensive excitement to the game.
