July 1, 1980

Randy Lerch managed to survive giving up ten hits in ten innings, and was rewarded with just his third win of the season against the Montreal Expos. For the Phils, there was a flurry of its - seventeen in total in the eleven innnings - but little in the way of run scoring, as the two teams ended regulation tied at 3-3.  Pete Rose singled home Greg Gross, and Bob Boone scored on the same play due to an error by third baseman Larry Parrish.  Lerrin LaGrow survived the bottom of the tenth to clinch the win.
