September 7, 1980 - Los Angeles 6, Phillies 0

That four-game winning streak was now just a distant memory as the Phillies continued to freefall against the Dodgers, getting shutout on three hits for the second time in three games. Even with the Dodgers' starter, Dave Goltz, leaving the game after the third inning, reliever Bobby Castillo continued to confound the Phils' hitters. For his part, Phils' starter Dick Ruthven was hit hard for six runs in three innings of work in suffering his ninth loss of the season. Four Phils' relievers, including Marty Bystrom making his major league debut, shutout Los Angeles the rest of the way, but the Dodgers coasted to victory. Fortunately, Montreal lost as well, so the Phils stayed a game behind the Expos.
