September 6, 1980 - Los Angeles 7, Phillies 3

The Phils ran into trouble early, with the Dodgers scoring three in the second inning to chase starter Larry Christenson after pitching so well in San Francisco. The Phils came back to tie the game in the third inning, but Randy Lerch gave up three more runs in the fourth and fifth innings as the Dodgers pulled away. Lerch took his 14th loss, which would mercifully be his last of the season. The Phils scored all three runs in the third inning, one from a passed ball by Dodgers catcher Mike Scioscia, and the last two from a single by Lonnie Smith and a sacrifice fly by Mike Schmidt. Montreal won, putting the Phils back into second place.
