September 20, 1980 - Phillies 7, Chicago 3

The Phils turned once again to rookie Marty Bystrom to keep the Phils apace with the first-place Montreal Expos. Bystrom had his shakiest outing since coming up for his September call-up, but it was enough to win against the basement-dwelling Chicago Cubs. Mike Schmidt launched the Phils into the lead with his 40th home run of the year against Cubs starter Lynn McGlothen, while Garry Maddox added a run with his 10th homer in the sixth. Bystrom lasted just 5-1/3 innings and gave up three runs, but it was enough to give him his third win of the season.
