June 24, 1980 - Montreal 7, Phillies 6

The Phils lose this game in a heartbreaker to first-place Montreal in 10 innings, 7-6. Dickie Noles picked up a rare start for the Phils and lasted five innings, giving up four runs on ten hits. Every Expos starter had a hit in the game, and Montreal had 18 hits on the game, but the Phils battled back to tie the game in the fifth inning on Mike Schmidt's 21st homer, a three-run blast off of Expos starter David Palmer, and again in the seventh (Rose scored on a Rowland Office error on a McBride single) and the ninth (Lonnie Smith scoring on a Garry Maddox single with two out). Unfortunately, Tug McGraw gave up a run off a Warren Cromartie single in the 10th inning and took his third loss of the season.
