July 19, 1980 - Game 2 - Atlanta 7, Phillies 2

Alas, the second game of this double-header went just like the first. The Phils actually had a 2-0 lead in the sixth, and still a 2-1 lead in the seventh. However, a six-run outburst by Atlanta in the seventh inning put the game out of reach for the Phillies, as they fell once more to the Braves, 7-2. Both of the Phils runs were scored by Lonnie Smith and knocked in by Bake McBride. Mike Schmidt finished an abysmal 0-for-7 on the night in both games. Dan Larson pitched a passable game (3 runs, 2 earned in five innings), but still suffered his third loss of the season. Dickie Noles wilted under pressure in his relief appearance, getting only two outs and giving up four runs against the Braves. Tommy Boggs earned his fourth win of the season for Atlanta, with Rick Camp notching his fourth save. The twin loss dropped the Phils to two games behind first place Pittsburgh.
