April 16, 1980

The Phils bounced back behind their ace Steve Carlton, defeating the St. Louis Cardinals to end their two-game losing streak.  Carlton pitched eight and a third innings, managing the game without his best stuff.  The win kept the Phils in second place behind Pittsburgh in the young season.
